On Tuesday, Vice President Leni Robredo stated her family’s rule that only one of them could be involved in politics. She also said that there is no vote-buying or political dynasty. When Jesse Robredo was still alive, some of his confederates wanted her to succeed him as mayor. Less than a year after the death of her husband in a plane crash, she entered politics in 2013 as the Congress representative of Camarines Sur. For years now, some allies have been pushing her eldest daughter Jessica to run for mayor or any other position. The mother-of-three said to her daughters, "Hindi naman siguro imposible na mapasok kayo sa pulitika eventually, although I would vote na huwag..." Pero sinasabi ko kung papasok ka, number 1, dapat wala na ako sa pulitika. " "Number 2, hindi mo mamanahin, kailangan umuwi ka doon at pagtrabahuhan mo," she added. Jessica Marie has a Master's degree from Harvard University. Her sister Janine Patricia is a doctor and COVID-19 frontliner, while Robredo's youngest daughter Jillian Therese is pursuing her college degree at New York University with a full scholarship.
